Promenade des Anglais
The Promenade des Anglais ("Promenade of the English") is a promenade that stretches along the Baie des Anges in the Mediterranean Sea at Nice, France. In the latter part of the 18th century, there was an English influx during the winter months in Nice, A number of the wealthier ones proposed and funded a project to build a promenade as a walkway which would separate the pebble beach from the houses on higher ground.

Saint Paul de Vence is a charming hilltop fortified village in Provence, France. It is one of the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera. We visited on a rainy day. The lovely pebbles arrainged so artistically in the walkway were as slippery as ice and made walking up and down the town extremely dangerous.
