Palace of the Winds

The Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds was constructed in 1799 in Jaipur, India out of pink sandstone, lime and mortar. Five stories high, yet only one room wide, its purpose was to allow the sequestered ladies of the court to view the outside world through screened windows. AIMG_4691
