The Cathedral of St. Domnius in Split, Croatia was built over a 3rd Century Imperial Roman mausoleum. The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary while the bell tower, built around 1100, is dedicated to Saint Duje, 3rd century Bishop of Salona, capital of the province of Dalmatia, who was martyred by emperor Diocletian.
