The Dioscuri

The Dioscuri
A statue of one of the Dioscuri (the twins, Castor and Pollux) outside the Capitoline museums. In Roman mythology, Castor and Pollux were twin brothers, together known as the Dioscuri. Their mother was Leda. Although they were considered to be twins, Castor was the mortal son of Tyndareus, king of Sparta, and Pollux was the divine son of Zeus.
