Elephant Rock on Hestan Island, Solway Firth, Scotland
Uploaded for the Guesswhere UK group.
This is the Elephant Rock on Hestan Island in the Solway Firth, about a mile and a half from the village of Auchencairn on the Kirkcudbright mainland shore and about 3/4 mile from Balcary Point, the nearest mainland headland. The island is connected to the mainland for a couple of hours either side of most low tides by a mile-long narrow ribbon of shingle ("The Rack").
