DescriptionOkay, is this just an oddly high stack of soggy newspapers (it’s actually made of newspapers), or a sculpture? Maybe a commentary on the status of print journalism?..There was no explanation, so I emailed an artist group in Rotterdam asking about it and they replied quickly, mentioning that they had seen it also and wondered about it but didn’t know. They mentioned that there is an art school near the display and suggested that it might be a student project. That makes sense, since the base is just a concrete slab sitting on top of some concrete blocks. There’s a picture of it on Google Street view where the papers are stacked neatly straight, not cross-hatched as here.
