Statue of Field Marshal Viscount Slim. William Slim was a war hero of WWI and WWII, had served in the Indian Army and was governor-general of Australia. He was apparently a relatively decent chap, even though many of the statues along this route depict what now looks like haughty and arrogant British conquerors.
