Poland, Krakow Schindler Factory (#2410)

Schindler Factor Museum in Krakow. The museum is, in one relatively minor sense, a documentation of Schindler's efforts to provide protection for Jews in his factory (the pictures in the windows).

More importantly, it is an exceptional depiction of Krakow and Jewish eradication by the Nazis. I saw this after a disappointing day at Auschwitz, and came away from this feeling that I had learned much more. It helped that it was much less crowded, but key was the fact that they used multiple media (newspapers and signs, radio broadcasts, sound) to provide a very realistic sense of what Krakow was like, and the lives of Jews at the time.
