Lava Beds Natl Mon Modoc War / Bureau of Reclamation (0998)

The wonders of the white man settlement in the early 1900's and the support by the Bureau of Reclamation. The sign indicating the shoreline at the time of the Modoc War is in the lower center of the picture. After the Modoc War the rivers were diverted and the lake drained for agriculture.
