Marysville WPA Ellis Lake Park (0126)

Marysville WPA Ellis Lake Park (0126)
Ellis Lake, a large public park in Marysville. Much of the cobblestone consruction around the park was done by the WPA (New Deal).

I like the cobblestones. I come across a lot of WPA construction in the East, and I attended a school built by the WPA during part of elementary school. You always know a WPA school building when you look at it.

Then get pictures! We need to document the WPA, I started a group for it on here.

For some reason, those old schools have always been a gap in my photography. I'll start correcting that.

The Living New Deal at UC Berkeley (http://livingnewdeal.berkeley.edu/) has some wonderful resources about New Deal projects, but I've been in contact with them and they've admitted that the records aren't clear and there's much more out there than is recorded. There's an amazing amount visible and scattered around the rural west, when you're out here, look closely at any campground structures that look to be from the 30's or so.
