DRS 37s

As passenger services on the Kyle line are operated entirely by 158s, the only variety, apart from the Royal Scotsman, is provided by Network Rail operations. These come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from on-track plant and road-rail vehicles to MPVs, tampers and the class 950 DMU that forms the track recording unit.
There are also occasional workings which bring loco-hauled trains to the line. The structure gauging train and various other track inspection vehicles appear with class 31s, 37s or 97s. If Network Rail have no suitable motive power available, locos may be hired from other operators, such as DRS.
