May Evening Rose

May Evening Rose
As the sun fell softly asleep,
She whispered silk in my ear,
'I know your desire,
the sleeper in your heart,
that dreams of my soft petals,
lies drunken under my scent'
I argued, gently, that the light
on her green mantle
had enchanted my eye.
But no choice was given,
I slowly knelt and kissed the rose.
Bliss on a May evening.
