Aquaplancton: effectiveness in pond clearance?

AQUAPLANCTON is a specially processed, highly porous mineral of planktonic origin. It comes in powder form and is spread over the surface of the water at any time of year. It is not a harmful substance and is used successfully with fish all the time.
Initially it will turn the pond pea-green to your despair, but within a week the water becomes crystal clear!
I bought a pallet of 40 25 kg bags as it was cheaper by the pallet on shipping, and our pond dosage requires about 100 kgs per application, every couple of years.
