1840s Roof ridge tile detail: Hurlford Fire Clay Works, Kilmarnock
Among the debris from the extension work, the old ridge angled tiles were replaced. Hurlford in East Ayrshire used to be a centre for the Iron and Steel industries of Scotland's West Coast, as well as having large clay deposits. These will have been made in the late 1840s most probably.
