SSC Saturday Self-Challenge, 20.01.18: photograph any handmade/homemade Dies sind einige Handarbeitsvorlagen der Großmutter meines Mannes, Behiye K., eine sehr liebe und weise Frau, die ich auch 1976 (damals 90-jährig) kennen gelernt habe. Sie war fast blind und hat mein Gesicht ganz sanft abgetastet, um zu 'sehen', wie wohl die zukünftige Frau ihres Enkels aus Deutschland aussehen mag, das hat mich sehr gerührt. Im PiP ist eine ganz typische Aufnahme von Behiye K. bei der Häkelarbeit zu Hause zu sehen. These are some manuals of my husband's grandmother, Behiye K., a very nice and wise woman, whom I met in 1976 (then 90). She was almost blind and has scanned my face very gently to 'see' what the future wife of her grandson from Germany may look like, that touched me a lot. SSC 03.02.18: Take a photo of a subject or place that reminds you of good memories, be it a souvenir, place where you took a vacation or memento of a special family event. The possibilities are endless. Nicht nur für diese Herausforderung haben wir das Restaurant/Hotel "Bremer Hof" in Lüneburg aufgesucht. Schon meine ersten Kindheitserinnerungen in den 50er Jahren verbinden mich mit diesem alten Gasthof: Mein Großvater spielte dort immer sonntags mit seinem 'Stammtisch' Skat im Bremer Hof. Meine Zwillingsschwester und ich durften ihn dann mittags dort abholen, wir wurden von unserer Großmutter geschickt, die das Mittagessen vorbereitet hatte. Unser Großvater war immer sehr gut gelaunt, hatte wohl auch schon ein/zwei Biere getrunken, was wir Kinder nicht so mitbekommen haben ;-), er wollte noch etwas länger bleiben und hat uns eine Tafel Schokolade und/oder ein leckeres Getränk spendiert, es war für uns ein besonderes Erlebnis! Aber meistens war unsere Großmutter leicht verärgert, weil wir zu spät kamen und das Essen so lange warm gehalten werden musste. In der Notiz ist ein Originalfoto aus den vermutlich 40er Jahren mit meinem Großvater (ganz rechts) bei seinem Stammtisch im `Bremer Hof' zu sehen. 1959 sind wir dann nach Adendorf in die Nähe von Lüneburg gezogen, ich denke, mein Großvater hat Lüneburg, den "Bremer Hof" und seine Freunde sehr vermisst, aber er hatte nun ein Eigenheim, ein sog. 'Siedlungshaus' für seine Familie, insbesondere für sich und seine Frau und unsere Mutter mit 4 Kindern, erworben. Und immer samstags sind wir mit dem Bus nach Lüneburg gefahren, unsere Großmutter hat auf dem Markt Obst verkauft, unser Großvater durfte im 'Bremer Hof' seine alten Freunde treffen. Das aktuelle obige Foto zeigt den Teil des alten Stammtisch-Bereiches in neuer Aufmachung, alles ist aufwendig saniert, ein weiters PiP zeigt eine ganz typische Szene bei einem sog. 'Mittagstisch', auch meine Mutter hat dort gesessen und mittags gespeist. Not only for this challenge, we visited the restaurant / hotel "Bremer Hof" in Lüneburg. Already my first childhood memories in the 50s connect me with this old inn: My grandfather always played there on Sundays with his 'Stammtisch' Skat in the Bremer Hof. My twin sister and I were allowed to pick him up there at noon, we were sent by our grandmother who had prepared the lunch. Our grandfather was always in a good mood, had probably already one / two beers drunk, which we children did not notice ;-), he wanted to stay a little longer and has given us a bar of chocolate and / or a delicious drink, it was a special experience for us! But most of the time, our grandmother was slightly upset because we were late and the food had to be kept warm for so long. The note shows an original photo from the presumably 40s with my grandfather (rightmost) at his regulars' table in the 'Bremer Hof'. In 1959 we moved to Adendorf near Lüneburg, I think my grandfather missed Lüneburg, the "Bremer Hof" and his friends a lot, but now he had a home, a so-called 'settlement house' for his family, especially for himself and his wife and mother with 4 children, acquired. And every Saturday we went by bus to Lüneburg, our grandmother sold fruit on the market, our grandfather was allowed to meet his old friends in 'Bremer Hof'. The current above photo shows the part of the old Stammtisch area in a new make-up, everything is elaborately renovated, another PiP shows a very typical scene at a so-called 'lunch table', my mother sat there and ate lunch.

SSC Saturday Self-Challenge 10.02.18: Photograph an ordinary household appliance or tool in such a way that makes it look like art. Das Originalmotiv (PiP) habe ich horizontal gespiegelt, mit dem Photoshop-Kunst-Filter "Farbpapier-Collage" versehen und anschließend die Farbsättigung etwas angehoben. Ich würde mir dieses Bild zwar nicht in die Küche hängen, aber es kann immerhin als 'Kunst' bezeichnet werden ;-). The original motif (PiP) I mirrored horizontally, provided with the Photoshop art filter "color paper collage" and then slightly increased the color saturation. Although I would not hang this picture in the kitchen, but it can at least be called 'art' ;-). SSC Saturday Self-Challenge, 18.02.18: fire / embers Noch vor 5 Wochen wäre mir spontan eine Idee zu diesem Thema gekommen: eine glimmende Zigarette. Nun entfällt bei mir dieses Thema, denn ich habe seit genau 5 Wochen mit dem Rauchen aufgehört ;-). Gegrillt wird zu dieser Winterzeit auch nicht, so dass ich z.B. glühende Holzkohle fotografieren könnte, ebenso wenig haben wir einen Kamin oder Gasofen. Zufällig haben wir gestern Nacht in der Mediathek einen Film mit einem Feuer gesehen, schnell holte ich meine Kamera, spulte den Film etwas zurück und fotografierte die Feuerszene, wobei die Kameraautomatik die besten Ergebnisse erzielte. Just 5 weeks ago I would have spontaneously come up with an idea on this topic: a smoldering cigarette. Now this topic does not apply to me, because I stopped smoking for exactly 5 weeks ;-). Grilling is also not at this winter time, so I, for example. could photograph glowing charcoal, nor do we have a fireplace or gas stove. Coincidentally, we saw a movie in the media library last night with a fire, I quickly got my camera, rewound the film a bit and photographed the fire scene, with the camera automatic scoring the best results.

SSC Saturday Self-Challenge, 24.02.18: Create your own triptych In the most beautiful dry but cold weather, yesterday I took a short walk across the road to the Kreidebergsee to make the photo for a triptych. The lake was half frozen. I was alone on the shore, the birds had the lake all to themselves, and I did not want to stay there too long, it was very cold ...; I edited the above result with Photoshop Elements, it had to be created three levels, which are then provided with certain styles, it was not so easy and first for me ... ;-). Bei schönstem trockenen, aber kalten Wetter habe ich gestern einen kleinen Spaziergang über die Straße zum Kreidebergsee gemacht, um das Foto für ein Triptychon zu machen. Der See war zur Hälfte zugefroren. Ich war alleine am Ufer, die Vögel hatten den See ganz für sich, und ich wollte auch nicht all zu lange dort bleiben, es war sehr kalt … ; das obige Ergebnis habe ich mit Photoshop Elements bearbeitet, es mussten drei Ebenen erstellt werden, die dann mit bestimmten Stilen versehen werden, es war nicht so ganz einfach und erstmalig für mich …;-).
