Called 'crab' apples in English and I don't know why! Perhaps you know, Bill?
Bill Robinson / kind… club has replied to Andy Rodker clubThere is much said but a couple of things caught my eye. They are the third most mentioned species as boundary features in Anglo-Saxon and Welsh charters...small hard and sour but make good pickle, base of jams and wild fruit jellies. They can be roasted and served with meat or added to warm ale and winter punches.
All the best Peter
