Overcoming the Mental Barrier
After 11 hours and 60 kilometers two thirds of the participants finished the hike in Apetlon (Austria). It required a lot of self-confidence and self-motivation to leave the warm atmosphere of the rest stop and to continue the hike in view of the coaches.

Zwei Drittel der Starterinnen und Starter sind in Apetlon (Burgenland, Österreich) - nach 11 Stunden bzw. 60 km - am Ende ihrer Kräfte und brechen ab. Im Anblick der erlösenden Busse weiterzugehen - aus der Wärme des Gasthauses hinaus in die Dämmerung - braucht viel Selbstvertrauen und Eigenmotivation.
