If you are still based in Shropshire, the closest regular murmuration that I know of is at Aberystwyth Pier. may be doable for you, especially as there in plenty of accommodation in Aberystwyth, for an overnight stay, ( they can go on rather late in the evening), and not overly expensive in Winter when these happen
