1981 VW Scirocco Mk1 - VRH 845W

1981 VW Scirocco Mk1 - VRH 845W
This Mk1 belongs to a friend from the Scirocco Register ... he's a lucky guy!

, Indycaver (Norm), have particularly liked this photo

Cool find and photo! One of the guys I use to work with drove a light green one back in the day! He was also the best friend of the owner and on occasion I would see him racing the boss in his 914 into work.

I'm guessing the 914 would get the better of it?

The 914 seemed to get the better of it from my viewing point. The 914 would brake a lot later before making a very hard right turn into the parking lot and that usually gave it the edge.

They are rather nice Phill and getting rarer by the day ... seems they were somewhat prone to rusting! ;)

Mine was a V-reg, in metallic blue, with a black vinyl rag-top, black and white cord upholstery, and nicer alloys than these. I don't remember rust so much, except the exhaust, and drove her around without one for months...probably tax and insurance too...in the days when I couldn't afford to do anything about it, and you didn't seem to get nicked for things like that! I sold it to help fund a 6month trip to India. Owning a Merc Sprinter seems to be a bit of a bum deal, looking at this.
