1974 Ford Escort MkI Mexico - SFF 236M

1974 Ford Escort MkI Mexico - SFF 236M
The MkI featured contemporary styling cues in tune with its time: a subtle Detroit-inspired "Coke bottle" waistline and the "dogbone" shaped front grille. They became successful as a rally car, and they eventually went on to become one of the most successful rally cars of all time. Arguably the Escort's greatest victory was in the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally and this gave rise to the Escort Mexico special edition road versions in honour of the rally car.

Thanks Steven. I much prefer it myself to the MkII.

Thanks Norm. Never realised rallying wasn't that popular over there.

There are a few races, but they don't get the coverage NASCAR and Indy car do. Nothing locally though!
