Visible and dark energy from the sky: Orion nebula M42, M43 and NGC1980
The big flare in the center of the picture is Orion nebula M42, just above it the M43 nebula and the brilliant point below is another nebula (NGC1980). To give some orientation, this little piece of sky is below and a bit right of the 3 famous and well visible Orion stars: Mintaka, Alnilam and Alnitak, known as well as the Orion belt. Picture is taken in a dark mountain area, away far from air and light pollutions.
These are example of source of visible energy which represents only about 15% of the estimated universe energy, meaning that 85%, called "dark energy" contributes to increase the universe expansion acceleration without being visible.
