the Ilse
We go on a rooty rocky path with the stream. The first 4 km lead through mixed forest. The creek Ilse overcomes here for a length of one kilometer a height difference of 120 mtr. Today, it is particularly interesting because of the rain the past few days makes for a lot of glistening, roaring entertainment.

To climb the Brocken is a tough job because no matter where you come there are some vertical meters to go; for example, by Town Ilsenburg there are 850 meters of altitude. Also, the return must be taken up again so that a day trip to the Brocken is 20 km long. This is the reason why visitors love to go one way with the steam railway.
We stayed on the mountain in the hotel (and have booked well in advance)
