Alan Mays club has replied to Smiley Derleth clubButko also said, "The Ship Hotel was perhaps the best-known roadside attraction on the coast-to-coast Lincoln Highway." Unfortunately, the deteriorating structure burned down in 2001 as plans were underway for a group to purchase the property and restore the building.
Interestingly enough, another ship-shaped hotel--the Fulton Steamboat Inn--opened in 1990 near Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It's situated just off of the Lincoln Highway (Route 30) at a site that's about 150 miles east of where the original Ship Hotel once stood.
