The Monroeville Shopping Center, known today as the Miracle Mile Shopping Center, was situated just a couple of miles away from the location of the later Monroeville Mall, where George Romero filmed his cult horror film Dawn of the Dead.

The Golden Age of Consumerism. I would love to be able step into every store in the shopping center, starting with Kresge's.

Thanks for all the comments! I, too, wish I had a time machine to check out these stores. My family lived in Monroeville for a time when I was very young. I didn't spot my dad's '56 Chevy in the parking lot, either. 8-)
