Studied with Agnes Jansen, began her career as a singer but best remembered as a voice teacher . Melba heard her and ask her to lead the chorus and sing small roles .Melba became aware of her potential to become a teacher and recommended her for a position at the University Conservatory . When Melba opened her Albert Street Conservatory in 1915 she ask her to become her first assistant . In 1920 she moved to London
