Conceived by the architect Peter Chermayeff, it was concluded in 1998, and opened during Expo-98. It was closed when the pandemic spread and reopened in last May.

This one was seen at Lisbon Oceanarium.
All the species of seahorses fit in the genus Hippocampus. It's always the male that gets pregnant: the female transfers her eggs to the male, which fertilizes them in his womb. When the eggs hatch, the male delivers the babies out with strong contractions.
