HQ Gwent Police, Turnpike Road, Cwmbran 8 January 2016

HQ Gwent Police, Turnpike Road, Cwmbran 8 January 2016
The former Monmouthshire County Hall used to stand to the right, on a hill. Since it was demolished in 2013, there have been problems with water flooding off the currently empty site and across the HQ driveway. When it is raining heavily, the left gutter resembles a small brown stream and recently water has taken to crossing the police car park and on to the Turnpike Road. Apparently this flooding is due in part at least, to the filled in underground car park immediately to the right acting like a reservoir, then when full with more incoming water, brimming over onto the driveway. The site is for sale to developers with no takers yet despite planning permission for about 220 homes. Any developer will have to address this problem.

I think we already have enough houses on flood plains without adding more!
