Chinese diggings photo pair
There was a gold rush of sorts in 1857 through 1890 in the hills at the back of Bairnsdale less than an hours drive from where I live. These abandoned digs have no physical remains, only long trenches, small caves and piled up rocks. The Chinese are said to have taken everything with them when they pulled out as opposed to Europeans who abandoned stuff and walked away.
You can see how dry the country is this year after a long dry summer.
Its an interesting photo pair of not much (sic) but there is evidence of mining and gold bearing quartz.
Images made with Nikon P7700 camera, my preset in Lightroom.
Printed on Canson Rag Photographique A2
