East Carlton: St Peter 2010-11-19

From SE. Rebuilt 1788 to designs of John Wing (1728-94), who also designed King's Norton in Leicestershire ( www.leicestershirechurches.co.uk/#/kings-norton-church-le... ). The W tower and the chancel with its chapels are on the plan of the medieval church but the nave was rebuilt without aisles, according to a plan from the faculty authorizing the rebuilding which is displayed in the church - this accounts for the unusual T-shaped plan.
