303|366: mondrian

On my way home from school I cycle along a row of shops close to the centre of the district I live and work in. Usually you never look at the details of those buildings, except on occasions when you let your photographer's eye roam freely. That's what I mean by "learning to see" (as I said in my profile). As soon as I spotted these tiles in a house entrance, though somewhat scratched and grimy, I thought of Piet Mondrian and how the fashion world in the 1960s (my teenage years) re-discovered that painter and made use of his structured colour schemes.
