Purple Loosestrife - Lythrum salicaria - is a tall plant which likes wet habitats like reedbeds, marshes etc. It is native to Great Britain but was introduced to North America in the 19th century where it is now classed as an invasive weed. The Common Carder Bee - Bombus pascuorum - is a fluffy Bumble Bee which is very social and can be found in many areas including heaths, woods, farmland etc. This scene was seen at the Three Sisters Recreational area near Wigan.
