Brimstone Butterfly - Gonepteryx rhamni

Brimstone Butterfly - Gonepteryx rhamni
After doing the photographers ‘Butterfly dance’ – all nature lovers have seen it when the photographer gingerly steps through the heather, wildflowers, grasses, crouches down, brings the camera up, then gets up and does it all over again as the butterfly decides it doesn’t like you, or your camera – I finally managed to get this shot of the beautiful Brimstone butterfly – Gonepteryx rhamni – as it landed on a Red Clover – Trifolium pratense – flower and finally allowed me to take it’s picture. Seen near Scotmans Flash, Wigan, and taken hand held using a +4 macro filter on my 18-270 lens.
