Almost as beautiful as the butterfly itself ! (:o))
Great capture here ! ******

Thank you for the compliment about my English, Dean. Learnt it by myself (own ?) when I was around 40 with a specific book (Assimil) and the correspondance (no computer at that
time ! (:o)). As soon as I had enough words and grammar I started to exchange letters with friends all around the world. Then I exchanged talking tapes, and at last I met some of my pen-tape friends. BUT I never lost my terrible French accent ! (:o))

Many thanks, Christiane, :-) They are beautiful larvae, aren't they. You're welcome, and I think it's amazing that you learnt it so well by yourself (or, on your own;-) Your spelling and grammar are superb, too, and a lot better that quite a few native English speakers. Ha ha, don't you worry about your accent, I always think it's charming to hear a non native English speaker talking with his or her original accent. :-)

After having written the comment above, I discovered that you are very talented ... not only in everything concerning nature, but also in languages ! Really wonder why you once learnt ... Dutch and Danish languages ! ... and not German and French (:o)). Joke apart, I can see that you know what learning languages is meaning, as you were nice enough to tell me how to use "own". THANK YOU MUCH, Dean.
Also learnt German and Spanish on my own, but for lack of practice, I forgot a lot. Languages are one of my hobbies. Just for fun I also started one day to learn Serbo-Croatian (I knew some people) and even Arab ... but I would have needed some help for the second one completely different of the others ones, and if my penpal was of course able to speak his mother tongue, he was completely unable to explain me it ... what is happening rather often.

Awww, thank you very much indeed for your lovely compliments, Christiane, I appreciate them a lot:-). It's actually Norwegian, as opposed to Danish, (I know they're quite similar) and I'm trying to learn them because I love the respective countries, and also because I enjoy the sounds of the languages very much, even though I find pronunciation very difficult, especially where Norwegian is concerned. As with yourself, it's a bit of a hobby for me, so I'm not being forced to do it, it is, on the contrary, a pleasure to do so. At school, I had very few options with languages, in fact, no options. I had classes in French, which I enjoyed, but, sadly, I let myself down by not working hard enough, and as a result, I remember only a few words, and I certainly cannot conjugate any verbs, which is obviously a rather sizeable problem;-). You really are a linguist, and I compliment you highly on what you know, especially with Arabic, I mean, it doesn't even use our alphabet, so I'm amazed at your talent :-D. You're welcome concerning my helping you a bit with your English, and if you think I could be of further assistance to you, please do let me know:-). Take care, and speak again soon:-).

Was glad to read you, Dean. Very interesting. Thank you.
It's amazing how much I was a dunce in school. I didn't learn ANYTHING at all. So my parents decided that I would go to work. I was 16 years old. And that's when I realized that people were educated around me (:o)) and that I absolutely had to learn... what I did in various fields at that time. It was only later that I became interested in languages... for various reasons.
Thank you also to propose and assist me in your language. I sure will ask you something from time to time, but if ever you see something wrong in my texts, PLEASE, tell me.
Of course, if one day you decide to learn French, be sure also that I would be an excellent teacher ! (:o))
Good evening, Dean.

Thanks again, Christiane, and how interesting reading about your schooling. I reckon your parents had the right idea, though, didn't they;-). You're welcome, I'm not exactly a genius at knowing my own language, but I'll help where I can. Thanks for your offer of help, should I choose to try learning French again some day, very kind of you :-). Good evening to you too.
