For babies, for cooking, for coffee...
We had one of these when I was growing up. My parents used a splash of evaporated milk to make cups of cocoa more creamy, in oatmeal and Cream of Wheat, and in homemade icings and cream soups. Leaving the opener on as a lid prevents spills in the refrigerator and punctures small pour holes in the can.

I don't know if these are still commonly sold, but I never see them around. I found this dandily decorated one at Cobwebs Antiques in Salt Lake City.

I only remember the plastic ones - this is cool!

I've never seen one in plastic. The ones my parents had were steel, but didn't have this cool embossing.

OK, I remember them now. I am probably thinking of the yellow plastic caps they used to have for Hershey's chocolate syrup.
