War and fighting men
Harvey Kurtzman had a distinctive style, mixing fine and heavy linework to create cartoonish but gritty tableau the likes of which had never been seen before in comics.
Like most E.C. books, a typical issue of Frontline Combat would likely include four different stories, each illustrated by a master in the field like Wally Wood, George Evens, Jack Davis, Alex Toth, John Severin, Joe Orlando, or even Bernie Krigstein.
Frontline Combat - No. 3, November 1951 issue.
Cover art by Harvey Kurtzman.
