"Spool Donkey" by Elmar Schultes - Wood Carving at Waterwheel Park

Chemainus was founded in 1858 as a logging town. When the town's main sawmill closed in the early 1980's, the town turned to tourism. A series of murals were painted on the walls of many of the town's buildings. There are now over 40 murals scattered around town.
