Trent and Mersey Canal, Great Haywood

Looks like constructed by childs at the playground out of sand. ;-) Nicely swings, roundings and no clear corners.

The rounded corners helped the ropes, that the horses used to pull the barges, to pass easily around the bridges. The horse could pass over the bridge still pulling the barge and the rope would be less likely to catch on the stone or bricks.
