The Sunday Challenge: Monochromatic Triptych

The Sunday Challenge: Monochromatic Triptych

Challenge for today was a monochromatic triptych.

On the photo a railing with on the background a brick wall. The railing is meant as a separation between the cyclepath and footpath between two streets. One of these streets is on a dike.
Taken on a rainy Sunday morning, the advantage is then that there aren't much shadows.

Later arranged the photos together and made monochromatic.

For me a triptych works best if there are two photos supporting a third one, all three have the same theme. I think I accomplished it here, the centre photo is supported by the two others. I made also another version in which all photos were the same size, that one did not work as well as this one does, and another on in which the centre photo was the smaller one, that one did not work either very well.

Esther, Indycaver (Norm), Robert Wilson, Lynne and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

Almost a magical or sinister feeling, I think! =) Maybe because of the darkish overall touch. Well composed triptych!

A wonderful triptych composition, Diederik; the two side images support the central one very nicely.

I did not recognize this as a triptych from the small image. The larger one is clear. Very well done.

I agree, the middle frame should have support from the others and be unique enough to tell its own story.
