IMG 9964 the commando memorial

On our way to Skye, on the morning of the 7th June, coincidentally just after the D-Day commemorations, we stopped to pay our respects at the memorial. The full inscription reads "United We Conquer" and it is dedicated in an additional plaque to the "...memory of the officers and men of the commandos who died in the Second World War 1939–1945. This country was their training ground".
