Valley of the Gods
Following an executive order by the President of The United States of America, this area lost it's National Monument status as part of the Bears Ears National Monument.
It has similar rock formations to Monument Valley with tall, reddish brown mesas, buttes, towers and mushroom rocks, remnants of an ancient landscape standing above the level valley floor. Although less known than Monument Valley, it can be toured via a 17-mile (27 km) gravel road. The fate of this public land is now in question while lawsuits over its future make their way through the courts.
This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR/6X7 1:4/200 lens with a Zenza Bronica 67mm SL39•3C(UV) filter using Kodak Ektar 100 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
