Cholla Garden

Cholla Garden
The Cholla Cactus is also called the Jumping Cactus. To keep this audacious cactus at bay and to prevent it from attacking tourists a sturdy fence has been constructed.
Well, at least the part about it being called the Jumping Cactus is true . . .

This image was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera with a SMC Macro-Takumar/6X7 1:4/135mm lens and Kowa Y2 ø67 filter using Fomapan 200 Creative film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

These cacti have the knack of finding you even if you stay behind the fence, it seems.

Segments of these cacti fall off the main plant and tumble about in the breeze. One chased me down the path
