The budding stem of an agave prepares to burst into bloom.

This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Macro-Takumar/6X7 1:4/135mm lens attached to a #1 (14mm) Extension Tube using Ilford HP5 Plus 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
