Wish you a serene weekend:) ***************************************** The Rosengarten is a massif in the Dolomites of northern Italy. During sunset, it can glow red from the dolomite mineral. The legend behind Rosengarten is known to be of the dwarf King Laurin, a princess, and a curse that destroyed his most prized rose garden at the entrance to his fortress in the rock. ........of my birthcountry. Wish you a marvellous week ahead. ***************************************** View of the Dolomites........ The name "Dolomites" is derived from the famous French mineralogist Déodat Gratet de Dolomieu who was the first to describe the rock, dolomite, a type of carbonate rock which is responsible for the characteristic shapes and colour of these mountains; previously they were called the "pale mountains," and it was only in the early 19th century that the name was Gallicized.

Days to come.

Thank you for your visits and comments. I really value each one. Love AM:) I hope 2015 is a fantastic year for each of you. ***************************************** A little tribute to the french victims of barbarity **************************************** Candles Days to come stand in front of us, like a row of burning candles - golden, warm, and vivid candles. Days past fall behind us, a gloomy line of burnt-out candles; the nearest are still smoking, cold, melted, and bent. I don't want to look at them: their shape saddens me, and it saddens me to remember their original light. I look ahead at my burning candles. I don't want to turn, don't want to see, terrified, how quickly that dark line gets longer, how quickly one more dead candle joins another. Constantine P. Cavafy

happy serene weekend mon amìs:) ****************************************** NARANJASTAN, Shiraz: the diversity of Persian garden designs that evolved and adapted to different climate conditions while retaining principles that have their roots in the times of Cyrus the Great, 6th century BC. Always divided into four sectors, with water playing an important role for both irrigation and ornamentation, the Persian garden was conceived to symbolize Eden and the four Zoroastrian elements of sky, earth, water and plants. These gardens, dating back to different periods since the 6th century BC, also feature buildings, pavilions and walls, as well as sophisticated irrigation systems. They have influenced the art of garden design as far as India and Spain.

Homage to a noble and smiling poeple. ***************************************** The term Iranian is derived from the Old Iranian ethnical adjective Aryana which is itself a cognate of the Sanskrit word Arya. The name Iran is from Aryānām; lit: "(Land) of the Aryans".The old Proto-Indo-Iranian term Arya, per Thieme meaning "hospitable", is believed to have been one of the self-referential terms used by the Aryans, at least in the areas populated by Aryans who migrated south from Central Asia. Another meaning for Aryan is "noble".

WISH YOU A WONDERFUL WEEKEND:) *************************************** The Iranian women's movement is based on the Iranian women's social movement for women's rights. This movement first emerged some time after the Iranian Constitutional Revolution in 1910, the year in which the first Women Journal was published by women. The movement lasted until 1933 in which the last women’s association was dissolved by the Reza Shah Pahlavi’s government. It heightened again after the Iranian Revolution (1979). Following the 1979 Revolution, several laws were established such as the introduction of mandatory veiling and public dress code of females.[4] Women's rights since the Islamic Revolution has varied. About 9% of the Iranian parliament members are women, while the global average is 13%.[5] The women's rights movement in Iran continues to attempt influencing reforms, particularly with the One Million Signatures Campaign to End Discrimination Against Women.[6]

Wish you a serene WEEKEND! ***************************************** The Jāmeh Mosque of Yazd (Persian: مسجد جامع یزد‎ – Masjid-e-Jāmeh Yazd) is the grand, congregational mosque (Jāmeh) of Yazd city. The 12th-century mosque is still in use today. It was first built under Ala'oddoleh Garshasb of the Al-e Bouyeh dynasty. The mosque was largely rebuilt between 1324 and 1365, and is one of the outstanding 14th century buildings of Iran. The mosque is crowned by a pair of minarets, the highest in Iran, and the portal's facade is decorated from top to bottom in dazzling tile work, predominantly blue in colour.
