Bismarck Towers
Folder: Germany
From 1869 until 1934 240 Bismarck Towers were erected by the Germans who wanted to honour their great chancellor. Today 172 survive. At certain days (Bismarck birthday or the day of his death, summer solstice) fires were lit on top.
