I know I should be ashamed, but I'm rather proud: some people claimed I couldn't speed in my slow diesel Merc.
The fine is 16 euro.
No women, children or animals were endangered during the speeding.
The speed limit was recently reduced from 100 km/h (62 mph) to 80 km/h (50 mph), but it created more traffic jams then expected. Now the speed limit will probably put back to 100 km/h.
Waiting for the Van Brienenoord Bridge in Rotterda…
The bridge can be found in Rotterdam. It is part of the motorway A16, one of the busiest in the Netherlands. The bridge crosses the Nieuwe Maas river. The bridge is 1320 meters long and is 24 meters above the water. Click here to see where this photo was taken.
The bridge is named after the island Van Brienenoord below the bridge. The island is named after A.W. Baron van Brienen van de Groote Lindt, a rich nobleman and businessman, also member of parliament in the 19th century. He cast the decisive vote in favour for the liberal constitution of 1848.
