Antinous of Bithynia was the favourite of emperor Hadrian. He drowned in the Nile in 130 AD and Hadrian deified him and erected numerous statues, busts and portraits of him in the Roman Empire. This bust was found in Patras, dates around 130–138 AD. Made from Thasian marble.
