Worms 2014 – Worms Cathedral – Gestas the Impenitent Thief

Worms 2014 – Worms Cathedral – Gestas the Impenitent Thief
Jesus was crucified together with two thieves. One mocked him, the other asked Jesus to remember him in his Kingdom and to be forgiven for his sins.

I wasn't at the Crucifixion, but I've read that the Romans showed some consideration for the Jewish law which didn't allow for nudity and that Jesus wasn't naked.

David Beckham was more impressive than old Gestas here.

The practise of crucifixion wasn't standardised I believe and it also depends on what is meant by "naked" in these old writings. Does it mean completely naked or covered with a loincloth? But is certainly true that the church would not have allowed naked statues in the church, whether it was Jesus or other saints.
