Oradour-sur-Glane 2014 – Tramline
On June 10, 1944 the town of Oradour-sur-Glane was surrounded by the Germans. The population was rounded up and murdered. The houses were looted and set on fire. The next day the burnt bodies were thrown in mass graves. After the war it was decided to leave Oradour in the condition it was as a reminder. In total 642 people were murdered.

No disrespect meant, but I wonder what became of the trams?

I don't know if there were trams in the town when the Germans arrived or whether there were still trams at all at that stage of the war. The tram line was discontinued in any case, only in Oradour there is still a tram track.
