Maatschappij can be a mutual, but not necessarily so. The company was founded in 1878 and it was liquidated in 1950. The insurance policies were taken over by the Groot-Noordhollandsche van 1845 and in 1971 by AGO, which became Aegon (together with Ennia) in 1983.

The building was originally the Haarlemsche Melkinrichting Hartelust (Haarlem Milk Factory Hartelust). It was built in 1902. In 1918 it was rebuilt as an office for the insurance company: an extra floor was added and some other changes were made.

So still there, most unusual but laudable.

The insurance company probably moved out in 1950, when the company liquidated. I don't know who uses the office now.
