Well captured, particularly the gait of the horse which proves the point that the sculptor of the images linked below, failed to recognise, and allegedly committed suicide, on realising he had got it wrong.

Actually he died in bed many years later, but it is a good fireside tale on a cold winters night when you are a kid ;¬)

The ambling gate is not unknown to horses, but the trot is more common these days and in some equine pursuits the ambling gate is not allowed (for instance harness racing). Prince Albert could have posed on a ambling horse.
